Chris turn professional in January 1992. Having spent time working firstly at his home club of Muckhart, Chris also went on to gain experiences working at Auchterarder, Tulliallan and eventually fulfilling a coaching position at Pitfirrane.
Qualifying as PGA member in 1995, Chris now has over 25 years’ experience of working in Professional Golf the majority of which (20 years) he has spent in his role here as Head Professional at Dunfermline Golf Club, during which time he has developed great friendships with all levels of golfer and loves to help them see improvement and success in their game.
His work and play have reached far and wide travelling through Europe and experiencing the different cultures and business of Golf around the globe – however, his home town of Dunfermline has never been far from his thoughts.
Chris provides Top class tuition and coaching with a wealth of experience to share. He also continues to study and strives to develop his skills through PGA Formal Learning events, seminars Professional Activity – Lecturing, Refereeing, Work-based Learning – On-job training and Self-Directed Learning, not only of the golf swing but has an interest in Golf Psychology & Nutrition.
All levels of his business are supported by his membership and shareholder stake in The TGI Golf Partnership. Having been a partner for over 20 years, this affiliation has provided a tremendous insight and availability of Golf latest technology and access to all the leading equipment manufacturers.
He currently writes and has written many a golf column for the Dunfermline Press which covers all aspects of golf to help people enjoy the game more. Chris also hopes that inclusion and increased participation in the sport will also be achieved through these articles.
Crossford, Cairneyhill and MacLean primary school pupils benefit from Chris’s involvement in running daily visits and taster days for local kids – again trying to increase participation in the sport. He has also spent time visiting primary kids in Rosyth. With hard work from Chris and past keen volunteer coaches, many local kids have been introduced to the game and the interest for playing golf has been planted.
Alongside this, Chris runs a well stocked Proshop which is open 7 days a week. He runs this in the most friendly way possible offering a warm welcome and top customer service all carried out with a smile. The experienced team also has John in the shop who has over 45 years’ experience in business and is very personable and ready to assist with anything golf.
The shop is well stocked with Ladies and Gents clothing on show throughout the year to suit the ever changing weather.
